- Missing from Home / Care
- WSCB Missing from Home / Care Protocol has been created to provide a joined up multi agency response to children and young people who are missing or have gone missing from home and care in the Wigan Borough.
- Sexual Exploitation of Children / Young People
- Children and young people who are sexually exploited are the victims of child sexual abuse, and their needs require careful assessment. They are likely to be in need of welfare services and – in many cases – protection under the Children Act 1989. This group may include children who have been sexually abused through the misuse of technology, coerced into sexual activity by criminal gangs or the victims of trafficking

- Professional Referral Form
- A new professional referral form has been developed by WSCB, which professionals are now required to use when making referrals to the Children Social Care Duty Team.

- Shieldteam
- The Shield Team is a Multi- Agency team consisting of representatives from Barnardo’s, Greater Manchester Police and The Brook, Wigan and Leigh. The strategic objective of this team is to support the work of the Wigan Safeguarding Children Board in ensuring that all agencies work together to safeguard and promote the safety and welfare of children/young people up to 18 years old who are at risk of sexual exploitation.
