New Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements
New Arrangements from January 2021
Following the Wood Review of 2017, which looked into the role and functions of all Local Safeguarding Children Boards, the Government has introduced legislation through the Children and Social Work Act 2017 to reshape the way in which local agencies work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
The Safeguarding Board will now be replaced by a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Partnership made up of three key agencies, local authority, health and police along with other agencies who play an integral role in safeguarding children and their families here in Wigan.
To find out more see Wigan’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements document, which has been developed in consultation.
